Physical fitness testing is a part of the process to educate students of the importance of wellness of the body, mind, and spirit through well-selected activities.
Before one indulges into PPFT pre-test, the following safety measures should be observed:
Before one indulges into PPFT pre-test, the following safety measures should be observed:
- Before the testing, students should be conditioned for the said test through isometric and isotonic exercises.
- Students must be in their P.E attire in order to move freely and without hindrance.
- Testing station should be set up as far as possible to avoid crowding.
- There must be a clear diagram of the flow of traffic from one station to the next station.
- The first few rounds of the test should be in the form of warm-up for the student to do the correct execution of the test.
- Explain the correct manner of doing the test.
- Scorecard must be ready before the testing day.
- Scorecard must be collected after the testing.
- Students should be guided in the interpretation and analysis of the test results.
Prepare the following things for the test:
- First Aid Kit
- Scorecards
- Calculator
- Ball pen
- Masking tape
- Stopwatch
- Tri-square
- Tape measure
- Weighing scale
- Spirit level and wall
- Drinking station
- Marking board
- Pre-mark wall for the throwing
- Table and Chairs
To be effective and efficient, students will perform the test in accordance to the prepared route.
- Station 1 = Body mass (weight)
- Station 2 = Stature (height)
- Station 3 = Sitting height
- Station 4 = Arm span
- Station 5 = Partial curl-ups
- Station 6 = Trunk lift
- Station 7 = Right angle push-up
- Station 8 = Sit and reach
- Station 9 = Shoulder stretch
- Station 10 = 1km run-walk
- Station 11 = Standing long jump
- Station 12 = Baseball pass
After the test, the students will submit the scoreboard to the teacher. The teacher will compute the results and explain to the students their performance on the given test. The teacher will inform the students of their strengths and weaknesses so that proper program will be developed to strengthen the weak portion and to maintain the strong area.
